Gamification is a powerful strategy, reshaping user interaction with learning and professional development. With the integration of the Octalysis Framework, crafted by gamification expert Yu-kai Chou, our platform elevates user engagement to its fullest potential.
Through a well-defined framework, we incorporated gamification elements, capitalizing on users' intrinsic motivations to render learning more enticing and impactful. Our understanding of these motivations guides the implementation of gamification elements, fostering additive motivation (earning rewards and progress), subtractive motivation (steering clear of losses and negative consequences), extrinsic motivation (influence from social connections and tangible rewards), and intrinsic motivation (focusing on personal development and a sense of purpose).
In essence, our platform delivers an immersive, gratifying, and purposeful experience, propelling effective learning and fostering user development.
Octalysis Framework - Sapiens
The Octalysis Framework is based on eight fundamental areas that categorize the main human motivations.
After organizing the gamification artifacts on our training platform, we used the Octalysis Simulator. This tool provided us with valuable insights by offering a score and a detailed report of the decisions made in the project. The simulator allowed us to assess the impact of implemented gamification strategies, analyzing their effectiveness, and identifying potential areas for improvement.

Point System
Experience Points:
Users earn XP for each completed activity on the platform, such as watching a lecture, completing a task, or finishing a course.
The amount of XP earned varies based on the difficulty or relevance of the activity.
Each level requires a specific number of XP to be reached, and the user's progression is displayed on their profile page.
XP can be used to unlock rewards or additional benefits on the platform.
Coins:
Users earn coins for completing specific missions and challenges.
Coins can be used to purchase virtual items such as avatars, accessories, backgrounds, and more, or to unlock additional features on the platform.
Coins can also be used to participate in drawings, where the user has the chance to win prizes like free courses, discount coupons, and more.
Levels:
Level 1: 0-99 XP
Level 2: 100-199 XP
Level 3: 200-349 XP
Level 4: 350-599 XP
Level 5: 600-999 XP
Level 6: 1000-1699 XP
Level 7: 1700-2799 XP
Level 8: 2800-4599 XP
